Vergece’s leaflet mentions the binding of red leather, and shows a partial list of the contents of the codex. It is Palaeocappa’s hand that we owe the initial pinax, as well as some added titles. All we can draw from this leaflet and from the codex binding is that he entered the Fontainebleau library during the reign of François I, so before 1547.He served as a partial antigraph, with regard to the botanical lexicon at least, at the Cod. Cambr. Univ.
