| Not | Four papyrus fragments from a single folio, part of the Crosby-Schoyen Codex Ms 193. Written in Sahidic Coptic in Egypt, and dated to the 4th or 5th century AD. The full codex contained Melito of Sardis' On the Passover, Jonah the Prophet, Jewish Martyrs, Epistle of Peter, and an unidentified homily or supplication for mercy. It has been suggested that the codex was an Easter lectionary composed at a Pachomian monastery. According to the editors, the codex originally contained 68 leaves (or 146 pages). These fragments are from the fifth and final text and are part of the same folio as Ms 193 p.127, containing text from the homily or exhortation. Both Moses and the Pharaoh figure prominently. This text may have been composed by Pachomius or one of his successors, Theodore or Horsiesius. |
