| Not | Juz' 7-9 of the Qur'an. This manuscript is volume three from a ten-volume set of the Qur'an, made in northwestern Iran around the year 1200. Written beautifully in muhaqqaq script, the Arabic text is large-scale, with only three lines per page. Codex, ink, colours and gold on paper, 109 folios, Arabic text in muhaqqaq script (thuluth and kufic for sura headings, thuluth in margin panels), with illuminated verse-markers and margin panels throughout, full page illumination at start and finish (fols 1r, 108v-109r), portion of the Qur'an (sura 5:83 to 7:186), third volume in a ten-volume set, unsigned, northwestern Iran, c. 1175-1225. |
