| Not | Östasiatiska museet, målerimagasin; Placerad på ÖM.; According to a letter from Prof. H.S. Nyström on the 25/10/1949, this miniature was part of a Shahnameh manuscript, now dispersed. The text under this particular scene is the end of “how Bahram Gûr goes lion hunting and the beginning of “how Bahram Gûr goes hunting onagers and then returns to Baghdâd and ..., and how he distributes the belongings of Farsidvad to the worthy and how he after this goes out to kill lions (beginning). The manuscript woul according to them belong to a manuscript copied in Shiraz 1341 and dedicated to Wazir al-Hasan Qawam al-Dawla wa’l-Dîn (patron of Hâfiz). If this is the manuscript it has sister parts in Londonm PAris, Lyon, Boston, M;ontreal etc. |
