| Not | Wooden tablet with wax-filled hollow, made in Egypt probably in the early decades of the 4th century AD. A fragment of a leather thong in the bottom hole was used to attach this board to three others to create a notebook. On the verso: the beginning of the Greek alphabet and four lines of illegible script which are probably Latin cursive. Tablet repaired in the British Museum in April 1948. |
